Role
Senior Project Architect
Mark led this project from pursuit to punch. He was an integral part of the interview team, developed the project's fee structure and staffing plan, and from day one established himself as the primary relationship holder for the client. Working closely with client representatives on a near-daily basis, he served as their trusted point of contact throughout design and construction, ensuring that communication remained clear, expectations were aligned, and the project moved forward with confidence at every stage.
In design, Mark led a team to develop the project's program and design goals, assembling internal staff and consultants and empowering them to create a space that reflected both the design vision and the client's expectations. Alongside his role as team leader, he mentored the design team on the detail-oriented documentation that interior projects of this caliber demand, bridging the gap between creative ambition and precise technical execution.
Mark's ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships extended beyond the client. Collaborating with a familiar general contractor, he deepened those partnerships through open communication and a shared commitment to common goals, bringing together the full project team and fostering the kind of trust and alignment that allows complex projects to be executed at the highest level.
After ten years from ValueAct Capital's initial build-out, Multistudio was invited to return to their Presidio office to help them reorganize their office to fit their changing needs. ValueAct needed more meeting and collaboration space and less square footage allocated to individual private space. Given the timeless, fine-tuned design and detailing from the initial construction, Mark worked to dove-tail existing into the new - taking the opportunity to provide fresh perspectives where appropriate but also honoring the high-quality existing work.
